Despite my mother’s suggestions earlier in life to become a plumber (everyone needs a plumber), I thankfully appear to be living and working as an artist / illustrator – my younger self would be very happy with this outcome.

I’m based in Falmouth, Cornwall, where I have a lovely commute through the winding back roads of the North Helford area to get to the place which I refer to as “Frogfoot Studio”, set in an old quarry.
Here I am surrounded by spreading gorse, goat willow & large lumps of granite, with squealing buzzards wheeling overhead, newts and shrews scuttling about underfoot.

I create pieces using collage, gouache, watercolour, colouring pencil, & whatever else comes to hand; aptly enough for my collage based work, my studio itself is actually the old cutting shed from back when the quarry was in use.

My inspiration is often drawn from what is around me – a good handful of my friends are folk musicians, some living in alternative dwellings such as shepherds huts and yurts.
I greatly enjoy being next to – and often in – the sea; surfing, wave watching, and pretending to be a mermaid.
This isn’t to say that I don’t fully appreciate dry land too – quaint old villages, patchwork fields, and murmurations of starlings play a big part in filling my heart; lets not get started on my love of hay bales on stubbly golden earth…

I could never live a big city life; I like my mornings slow, my work days peppered with wanderings through the undergrowth, and my evenings filled with feasts of delicious food, friends, and wonderful music.
In the future I’d like to own a cow to milk, chickens to cuddle, and enough land to grow all the food I need.
Perhaps I’ll even learn a spot of plumbing.

Want art?

I am always open to commission, whether the project is big or small I am happy to discuss.
The best way to contact is to send me an e-mail, as Cornish phone signal is... dubious.

Visitors are welcome to come see me at Frogfoot Studio, you must book in advance if you'd like to appear.
The track down here is mega bumpy, but don't let this country charm discourage you.
